The FVM is a community-oriented workshop that is focused on engaging the people interested in Making/DIY in the Fraser Valley.
Vancouver has many great resources but the suburbs are lacking a dedicated space.
FVM is working hard to fill this void and is driven by the feedback of the community and its members.
Membership is open to everyone!
Total noobs/beginners are welcome.
No electronics/maker/DIY knowledge or experience is required.
We’re here to make and learn together and focus on a fun, friendly environment!
Any questions? Drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Currently the space is located on the 2nd floor of a historic building in Murrayville (a part of Langley).
The address is 4612 216 Street. Parking is across the street (on the west side of 216) in the church parking lot.
Checkout the “Contact page for more details.
The space is currently open every Monday night from 7pm to 9pm, Thursday nights from 7pm to 9pm and every Friday from 7pm until the last one leaves (usually 11 or midnight).
The next steps we are working towards include:
- a “build day” on Sundays where we’re open from 10am to 6pm
- an additional weeknight from 6pm to 9pm
Any feedback/ideas/volunteers please drop an email to email@example.com
Some power tools are available for use such as:
Dremel(s), power drills, mini band saw, milling machine, heat gun, soldering irons, sewing machines, and more.
Other miscellaneous tools available for use include: 3D printer(s), etching tank, silk screening equipment, various tools for electronics, woodworking and general fabrication.
There is also a plethora of hand tools available – pliers, screw drivers, hex keys and hex wrenches, side cutters, aviation snips, wood carving tools, and many more.
We also have a computer available for general use with Windows-Linux dual-boot options.
As the community grows we will transition to a warehouse and as a community decide on the next level of equipment.
Of course! The space is here for the community.
Come and see for yourself firsthand what we’re up to and whether you want to join.
Everyone is very friendly and keen to share their knowledge and teach one another so it really is a great environment and has been growing steadily with more and more positive people.
It all starts with coming out!
Currently the membership fees are set at $30/month for an individual and $50/month for a couple/family. This is required to be considered an official member and grants you access to all the tools the space has to offer.
There is no fee for simply dropping in and hanging out, and all classes and events are open to the community at large.
The FVM is run as a non-profit and all membership fees go back into the community.
If you are interested in playing a sponsorship role with the space please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
